Details
Cross country racing demands plenty from the rider and the bike. The longer the course, the more technical the terrain and the tougher the competition, the better the bike needs to be. Welcome to the Anthem Advanced Pro.
Any full suspension mountain bike needs to have an incredibly strong and light "backbone" for optimum performance. The Advanced Composite carbon fiber main frame of the Anthem Advanced Pro allows the bike to transfer power with lightning-quick response. A PowerCore bottom bracket anchors the crankset for flex-free power delivery. The OverDrive tapered head tube adds an extra dash of razor-sharpness in technical singletrack. The frame's torsional strength allows the suspension -on both ends- to perform precisely. The rear Maestro swingarm is also produced with Advanced-grade Composite carbon fiber, bringing precise handling and very light weight to the chassis. The Maestro suspension geometry itself doesn't soak up your efforts from pedaling due to the main lower pivot being directly in line with the chain. The upper and lower suspension elements of the Maestro suspension are uneven, allowing the wheel to travel slightly backwards with every impact. The shock can respond better for improved control over terrain features rough and smooth. The air-adjustable Fox Float DPS Performance Elite rear shock delivers 90mm of travel; perfect for XC courses and fast singletrack. The Advanced Forged Composite rocker link has the shock installed in a Trunnion mount, all but eliminating binding from lateral friction.
The Anthem Advanced Pro's suspension fork is an air-adjustable Fox 32 Float SC Performance Elite unit. Lightweight step-cast lowers, adjustable rebound and 100mm of travel deliver high performance for the XC racer. Both shocks can be locked out with a bar-mounted remote lever.
Shimano's award-winning Deore XT components are found throughout the Anthem Advanced Pro 1. The single-ring 32T crankset, 12-speed RapidFire shifter, Shadow-style derailleur, 10-51T Hyperglide+ cassette, and the flat-mount hydraulic disc brakes are all designed to work perfectly in concert.
Giant's own tubeless-ready carbon fiber XCR-1 29'er wheels aren't just feather-light, they're plenty strong for tackling rough trails and hard landings. They're tubeless-ready, and feature Boost110/148 hub spacing for improved high-speed handling. 31mm wide rims allow the tires to spread out for a better "footprint" on the trail. The tubeless tires themselves are Maxxis 29x2.25" Recon Race rubber with a low-profile tread for low rolling resistance.
The Anthem Advanced Pro's "furniture" consists of a Composite carbon fiber Contact seatpost, Contact SL saddle, alloy Contact SL stem and Composite carbon fiber Contact SLR XC handlebar.
